Coalgrove

A mining village on the western coast of Roth Island, surrounded by coal deposits known as the Coalgrove Pits. Coalgrove provides Zimroth and The Dark Tide with a significantly large chunk of its profitable materials and is under heavy guard.
There have always been small villages around Galeroth but only those around its northern side survive large eruptions. The natural layout of the rock around the village has protected it from all volcanic activity over the years and also serves as a great windshield and general defence from the south. There are walls, gates and towers around the village and coal pits that are patrolled day and night by mercenaries working for the Dark tide.
Before coal was discovered the village was known as Amaria and primarily a farming and livestock breeding village, over the last century as well as being renamed Coalgrove, heavy mining means that farming is pretty much non-existent.
