The First Calm

The First Calm followed The First Great Turbulence, and lasted approximately two thousand years. The first century in particular (0-100FC) was marked with conflict as the survivors of the preceding chaotic decade struggled to adjust to the new global geography, as rulers attempted to maintain or increase their territory, and new farms had to be established, new hunting and fishing grounds found, and new rifts between realms located and either guarded, sealed, or adjusted to.

Rise of Religion

Many of the deities, whose power had been lesser during The Era of Tranquility, gained significantly in divine power and influence during The First Great Turbulence. Some had helped various peoples and creatures survive the chaos, and as calm was established, many of them became central figures of worship. Others displayed great power and became sources of fear, and equally gained a following. In general, the somewhat scattered worship of The First Great Turbulence became replaced with more organised religion.
