The Black Dragons of Nehwon

Themes

Children are being abducted to purportedly support Kult Drachen in their efforts to manifest Black Dragons into Nehwon.

A darker clan of barbarians or vikings, most obviously identified by their heavily tattooed bodies marked with runes, seem to be the muscle behind their efforts.

Structure

Exposition

For a century, The Temple of Elemental Evil, laid in ruin. Paladins of old had cleansed the Temple of its evil cults and destroyed its most influential members. About a year ago, new actitivity at the Temple has been reported. This time it seems to have been taken over by different cults with different goals. Witness the rebuilding of The Temple of Elemental Evil! Are its newest denizens trying to bring back the "glory days" of old, or are there darker purposes afoot? Perhaps both?

Conflict

The Order of Ix has located Kult Drachen within The Temple of Elemental Evil and has determined that this is the site where they plan on manifesting the Black Dragons into the world of Nehwon. The Order of Ix has recruited key people and groups, including the Heretic, to try and gain a broader view to Kult Drachen's plans and to stop their efforts as quickly as possible.

Rising Action

The Order of Ix has sent the adventuring party known as the Heretic on a quest to discover why all children under the age of 18 in the Karja Tal region have been abducted, and where they have gone. The Heretic have picked up the trail that leads to The Temple of Elemental Evil.

Hooks

Lord Pranax of Lankhmar seems to be involved in child trafficking to some degree, probably including the abduction of The Children of Karja Tal.

The nuns of the convent in Karja Tal who once ran the orphanage there have disappeared along with every single orphan they once took care of.

The Temple of Elemental Evil is in the process of rebuilding and restoration. It seems to be a likely place where the children are being held hostage.

Stakes

If their goals are not met, the possibility of Kult Drachen getting its way and bringing Black Dragons into Nehwon increases. This will not only bring chaos and devastation to the Karja Tal and Hinterland regions of Nehwon, but quite possibly the entire world.
