Bookmen

The Bookmen are a strange three, seemingly obsessed with information. They pay - hefty sums - for new intel, and hire out for retrievals. The sum of which makes up several other Motley's main order of business. No one knows what they do with the information though. Most think it is worthless hoarding. But when someone needs to know something, you can always ask Lena, who curates their libraries.

Structure

Lena leads the Bookmen ever since Manny became King of Autumn. Lena keeps the group focused and on task.

Public Agenda

No one really knows. When asked, the party line is simple: "We exist to gather knowledge regarding the fae." Whether that last fae means True Fae, fae, Goblins, Changelings, Arcadia or something else, no one knows - they pay handsomely for pretty much any information on any of those things. What they do with it is another manner.

Assets

Because of how old the Motley is, it has significant resources. Their Motley Hollow is scarily hard to reach and well-defended. Their Motley maintains a mortal safehouse as well, an aging but stately brownstone in the Loop.

History

The name Bookmen is actually an inherited title. The changeling pair of GrymmPen and Lill Inkwell, now lost to Arcadia, inducted Manny Spellman into the Motley. Then, many years later, GrymmPen and Manny brought in Lena Welch after Inkwell was taken by Huntsmen. When GrymmPen disappeared the next Autumn searching for Inkwell, Manny and Lena continued the lost changeling's mission, though they won't say what that is. Two decades ago Manny and Lena inducted Trang O'Toole into the Motley.
