The Shatter that had stowed away onboard attacked, causing the ship to crash land on the moon of Phobos. They now have established a breeding ground around the vessel for their new hive, building a vast fortress on the moon. The hive has also begun forming an extremely dangerous construct at its core; a massive
Aetherium Crystal
Colossus. With the stranded battleship and the potential value the hive holds, the Carnax seek to exploit the resources contained within the colony before destroying it.
The Crystal Palace is filled with great fortune and great peril.
Wreckage of the Rex Infernus
The once-mighty Rex Infernus lies in ruins, scattered across the lunar surface. The absolutely massive ship is embedded into the side of a large incline. The area surrounding the crash is a scene of chaos and destruction. The twisted metal and wreckage is a treacherous environment, with remnants of the ship strewn about, creating obstacles and hazards. The deck of the ship is filled with Carnax forces working on the ship and ready to attack intruders.
Wreckage
Players must navigate the debris around the crashed ship and carefully traverse the wreckage, avoiding unstable structures, platforming across perilous debris, and dodging volatile energy leaks as they find a way to board the vessel. Once atop the ship, hostile Carnax forces will attempt to repel their advances. Once they have all been defeated, a section of the deck will collapse allowing entry into the vessel below.
Interior of the Rex Infernus
After entering the ship, players must transport power cells throughout the hallways to open hatches while overcoming defensive forces. Once several doors have been opened and the power cells reconnected, access to the rest of the ship becomes available. After navigating a large maze, players will eventually find the hangar.
Belly of the Beast
The massive hangar of the Rex Infernus is filled with chaos as the Carnax fight off an unknown force which turns out to be the Shatter. Between a fleet of space vessels and ground craft, players must eliminate both the Carnax forces and destroy a Shatter blockade, allowing for access into the rest of the hive.
The Shimmering Fortress
The Shatter hive has constructed a massive fortress around and below the crashed Rex Infernus. The fortress is composed of intricate crystalline structures that glisten with an otherworldly radiance. The fortress is a labyrinth of twisting corridors, sprawling chambers, and crystalline spires. However, danger lurks around every corner as the fortress is heavily guarded by powerful Shatter warriors. Players must navigate the maze-like structure, solving puzzles, and engaging in intense combat encounters to advance deeper into the fortress.
The Maw
A colossal, gaping chasm descends deep into the lunar surface, known as the Maw. The Maw is a natural formation that serves as an entrance to the heart of the Crystal Palace. It is a treacherous descent, with steep cliffs and sharp, unstable platforms.. Players must utilize their traversal skills, timing their jumps and movements carefully to descend deeper into the depths of the Maw. Hazards such as falling rocks and deadly falls add to the challenge. This area involves platforming challenges, timed sequences, and coordination among players to navigate the hazardous terrain.
The Razor Cathedral
Deep within the cavern at the bottom of the Maw, the Razor Cathedral stands as a mysterious and foreboding structure. The cathedral is an imposing edifice, adorned with razor-sharp crystalline formations that gleam with a deadly beauty. It emanates an eerie, melodic hum. Inside the cathedral, players face the ultimate test, confronting the massive Colossus that resides within.
Players will need to contend with invading Carnax forces as well as Shatter guardians while facing off against the Colossus.
