Engulfed in extreme heat and crushing pressure,
Venus presents its own unique atmospheric challenge during
ARC Events. Players will contend with thick clouds of sulfuric acid that periodically sweep across the landscape, melting anything in their path.
In the five minutes leading up to the Event, the sky begins to dim exponentially. Once the storm arrives, ambient light fades by 50% and an opaque, grey haze fills the air making it difficult to see. Visibility past 20 meters is obscured.
Much of the
Map becomes covered with roaming storm clouds. These areas vary in size but are generally around 15 meters wide, moving at three meters per second.
Shelter
Solid structures offer a degree of safety during the Sulfuric Storms, but some structures may have openings that expose the area below to damaging acid. Players must exercise caution to avoid these areas while seeking shelter.
Class I Sulfuric Storm
Class I Sulfuric Storms last five minutes. The warning that appears on player’s
Action Feed one minute before the event starts reads “Warning: Class I Sulfuric Storm imminent. Take shelter.”. Much of the map experiences roaming storm clouds that cause heavy
Toxic damage every two seconds, equal to (Max
SP + Max
HP) * 0.02.
Entering a storm cloud applies a stacking
Debuff of Acid Burn every six seconds up to a maximum of 20 stacks. Stacks are removed after six seconds once the player has exited the area. Once a player has 10 stacks of Acid Burn, they are inflicted with
Contamination which is refreshed every second the player remains at or above 10 stacks of Acid Burn.
Class II Sulfuric Storm
Class II surges last eight minutes before dissipating, and the warning that appears on player’s Action Feed one minute before the event starts reads “Warning: Class II Sulfuric Storm imminent. Evacuation advised.”. Like Class I storms, much of the map experiences roaming acid storms that cause Toxic damage. However, Class II storms are twice as damaging, equal to (Max SP + Max HP) * 0.04.
Entering a storm area applies a stacking debuff of Acid Burn every two seconds. Stacks are removed after six seconds once the player has exited the area. Once a player has 10 stacks of Acid Burn, they are inflicted with Contamination which is refreshed every second the player remains at or above 10 stacks of Acid Burn.
Additionally, players in Class II storms must also contend with unstable thermal vents in the ground. Thermal Eruptions can occur anywhere on the map while the storm is active. Players will have to be extremely vigilant and mobile to avoid them. If a player is not inside of a shelter, a warning animation will play at the player's current location. One second later, the surface at the location will burst, shooting molten particles several meters into the air. Players can avoid these Eruptions, but remaining still or moving slowly will result in being burned.
Thermal Eruptions deal (Max SP + Max HP) * .1 Thermal damage and apply the
Scorched Debuff if a player is within 0.5 meters. Between 0.5 meter and 1.5 meters, Thermal Eruptions deal (Max SP + Max HP) * .05 Thermal damage. Thermal Eruptions occur every 8-10 seconds in a range around each player.
