Stump's Landing

Southwest Wallacia
A small village on the south bank of the Red River near the western border of Westland. It is a small number of loosely-grouped houses and farms on both banks of a small stream which empties northward into the larger river. Near the one jetty which juts into the river is the "Jump'n Frog" tavern and inn. Across the dirt road from it is an unnamed combination blacksmith and stable.

Demographics

Currently most of the residents are human, though the dwarven names of nearby streams and other landmarks reveal that it was once inhabited primarily by dwarves.

History

This settlement was originally founded by a dwarf in the early days of the Wallacian expansion.  His true name has been lost to history, but we know that he adopted the nickname of "Stump".  He founded the settlement as a waystation for traffic on the Red River, and soon attracted fellow dwarves looking for ore in the nearby hills.  However, early prospecting in the hills did not reveal productive claims, and most of the dwarves then headed upstream to Allenstadt.
