Session 7 - The Raid Report
General Summary
As alarms blared in Hewnholm Tower, Kara Towers attempted to lead Rayla Moonshadow, Winnow Olafson, and Feyre Blackwood out to safety. They quickly found the station under attack from giant insectine creatures called ankhegs.
A battle ensued outside the station. Joined by Dac Earreac and Gunn, the party repelled the ankhegs, including one that seemed to be mutated by Miasma. Though some of the guards perished in the battle, the party handily defeated the ankhegs. They were commended both by Kara and Ogma Horne. Kara raised the notion that the party could still be of assistance to her in what would come next.
The party later reconvened at Winnows studio to discuss their next steps. Winnow's aunt -- Agathe Fentheana briefly dropped by, pleased that Winnow had company. Soon after, Kara Towers arrived with a proposition: The part could investigate Kara's suspicions that a Gearforged (or a faction of them) within Axiom was responsible for the threats. Given the tense, political nature of the Gearforged community's current state, the presence of a Brass Spears investigation could cause unwanted trouble, or could even cause her suspected quarry to lie low under scrutiny. The party could investigate on Kara's behalf.
There were many tensions within the room, with people differing on how to handle the investigation or what they would take as a reward. Winnow wanted a future favor from Kara. Gunn and Feyre wanted to see Nance liberated and her record cleared. Rayla wanted a resurrection spell for Doxa Erflin. Kara quickly said she would help with this request, referring the group to Jondam Klefta, a High Cleric of the The Ebon Prince - Mazarathes. Feyre and Winnow both clocked that Klefta is something of a controversial figure.
After much consternation, the group begrudgingly joined forces. Kara left them a sending stone that could be used to maintain contact with her and said that they will hear from her tomorrow.
