Smith-Shimano Corpro

Smith-Shimano Corpro (SSC) is a corpro-state within Union. Unique among corporations, it maintains no physical headquarters, aside from its server locations, which are highly-guarded secrets, but maintains an extensive omninet presence and virtual campus.
SSC is primarily concerned with posthumanist research; after the First Contact Accords put a strict ban on decorporalization research, SSC shifted from researching ways in which their clients could leave their bodies behind to a relatively more conventional approach of refining the human form, often while pressing the boundaries of what it means to be human in the first place. SSC approaches this goal in two ways: one, the company develops advanced cybernetic and organic implants, and biological symbiotes; two, it cultivates populations of human colonists through eugenics to sell to chartered colonial companies as bespoke populations. SSC retains the exclusive rights of all its citizen's genetic code, and manages its populations' propagation through a mix of hard and soft coercion.
SSC also manufactures an extensive portfolio of luxury goods, the sale of which it uses to finance its posthuman ventures. SSC goods are not necessarily as reliable as those manufactured by IPS-N, but are considered cutting-edge and top-shelf.
