Henry Tate is the adoptive father of Malia Tate. He was married to Evelyn Tate which whom he also had a biological daughter, Kylie Tate.
After his wife and children were all apparently killed in a car accident, he became a recluse. Over time he became convinced that coyotes had killed Evelyn after the crash, and began hunting them.
In 2011, the McCall Pack figured out that the coyote seen close to the crash site was actually Malia Tate, who had survived the crash due to being a Werecoyote but was now permanently stuck in animal form.
After Scott McCall turned her back, she returned to live with her father, although the trauma they had both suffered meant their relationship remained strained.
