Kerameipolis (Care-ah-may-poh-lees)
Overview
A metropolis established on Tyrins for craftsmen and those who wish to escape from the war-torn mainland. Led by the cyclops Polemos and furnished with schools and artisan guilds.Demographics
Diverse membership both ancestrally and economically. Majority of inhabitants are involved in artisans' guilds of all different varieties as students or mentors. A large population are refugees of other Ogygian kingdoms who want to escape the frequent conflict.
Government
Open to all individuals willing to peacefully trade or learn craftwork. A moderate portion of all sales and school enrollment fees is taxed to maintain city upkeep and provisioning of materials.
Carrying of weapons within the city walls is banned, and any weapons crafted and sold within the city will only be provided to the buyer when they leave; even the guards of Kerameipolis are only allowed to use hand-to-hand or magical means to apprehend criminals within the city walls.
Defences
Framed by high walls surrounding the entire city, with ballistae and catapults mounted on the outer walls in case of naval invasion.
Guilds and Factions
A guild is present in this settlement for every kind of craftwork imaginable: pottery, smithing, painting, farming, engineering, and architecture, to name a few.
History
Established by the cyclops Polemos, who fought in the colosseums exclusively to establish this city and the surrounding island of Tyrins for his kin. He has not set foot on the battlefield again since.
