Tidesrest
Tidesrest, much like the more traditional Elven cities, is filled with gardens, trees, and other foliage. Where it differs from the Elven cities, apart from its inhabitants, is the infrastructure that coexists with the greenery. The city is a blend of these two styles. The older parts of the city being a scaled-down Elven styling befitting its Tennin inhabitants. The newer areas of the city, along with its walls and gates, are styled for a largely human populace, more masonry and wood than the carved stone and magically shaped materials traditional to the Elves and Tennin common ancestor, the Eladrin.
Demographics
Craftsmen and Administration are primarily Tennin (Elfling), while the remaining 40% of the town are individuals from all races and walks of life. Guards and soldiers for the town are primarily human, with outcast high elves and Half-elves thrown in. Very few Dwarves, Dragonborn, and Goliaths. Tieflings are a big part of the merchant population, as they typically travel the Eastern coast of the mainland between Selvache, Tidesrest, and Karanthas. Many Tieflings remain in Tidesrest temporarily during the cold months, preferring to return to Karanthas for the more temperate months.
Defences
20 ft wood and stone walls surround the city proper, with some outlying farmsteads and craftsman settlements that require more room. No other fortifications or defenses to speak of.
Industry & Trade
The primary export of the city is its wines, which exhibit a unique blend of the sweetness found in Elven wines with the dryness common to human vintages.
