Galatea

Galatea is an archfey of the Summer Court in the Feywild. She holds dominion over the river that cuts through the center of the feywild, and is the only archfey (besides Telwyth-Teg) that does not lose her power when traveling over running water.
She appears as a water nymph (much like the rusalka of the Near Isles) who wears a seaweed toga and carries a cattail wand. She always appears slightly blurry, as if at the bottom of a stream.
Galatea is traditionally the patron of a Wargrave of the Cuarto Porata district in Cantonova. Her current wargrave is Dido.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Galatea began her life as a water Nymph. She fell in love with a human shepherd named Acis somewhere in the Gaeno Woods. However, while she was in this woods, an Ogre named Polyphemus became infatuated with her and killed Acis in a jealous rage. She pleaded to the goddess Brigantia for help, who granted her the power to turn his soul into a river. She took that river back to the Feywild to divide the Seelie and Unseelie courts, which were bitterly at war at the time. The running water severed the invading Unseelie fey from their magical power, and they retreated to their own courts. Queen Mab elevated her to a seat on the Summer Court as an act of gratitude.
