Longobardi
Longobardi is the capital of Isla Voli, its second largest city, and its seat of government. It was the home of the Royal Family of Voli until the Volian Revolution turned the island into a republic. It still hosts the Senate building, as well as the home of the Prime Minister.
Defences
Other than its relative isolation, Longobardi's best defense is the walls around the old castle village. The inland hilltop location has historically served as a strategic separation from foreign invaders and the island's dangerous wildlife.
Tourism
One of Longobardi's most famous traditions is its ancient history of falconry. The Festa Falconet, held every year from 2 July to 7 July,
Volian Independence Day, held each year on 13 May, draws visitors from the hillside villages around Longobardi to celebrate with feasting, jousts and other sporting tournaments, and effigy burnings of tyrants and unpopular leaders of Voli's past, such as King Grimoaldo II, last of the kings of Voli.
Geography
Longobardi is roughly a day's travel inland from the northwestern point of Isla Voli. It sits on a hill that rises above the thick forests to the east. The entire town is built in terraces around the central hill, with Castello Longobardi at the peak.
