Castle Rend

In the ancient times of King Balaste and the Age of Heroes, The fortress of Castle Rend was home to King Ormund's legendary The Dragon Guard, Heroes far and wide came to learn from them, people from across Andrim came to beg the Knights help them. In the age of Ajax, the Castle had fallen into disrepair. It was initially assaulted by Ajax's fortress during The Conquest of Ajax and The Purge; The remaining surviving Dragon Guard members were scattered to the wind, forced to retreat from their home. In a few years, a clan of knolls began occupying the fortress, calling it their home until the White Tusk Orc tribe raided it from below, forcing the knolls out back into the forest of Rend, killing many of their number.
It was taken back from the Wilderness when Auberdine "Dean" Callisto and his friends raided the castle searching for their missing friend, Andrus of Andrim. They defeated countless members of the Blue Orc tribe that had risen up from the Night Below and occupied the castle under the orders of the Mindflayers. There they found Edmund Bettigar, the Last Baron. They saved him and were granted the Castle as a reward for their service, Dean was made Count of Rend during this ceremony and deemed the region of Rend's noble master.
