Rend
The region of Rend primarily refers to the forest of Rend, however in ancient times of King Balaste, the region of Rend was its own barony, however it was lost in the Conflict between Bettigar and Tor within The age of Madness. It was considered a dangerous wood, but it is patrolled by Bettigar's and Tor's Wardens from The Cats Claw Keep, Brokenspire keep, or as it was called in the old times, Castle Rend sits firmly in the center of this region. The Castle was at one time the Headquarters of the famous Dragon Guard of Andrim
After an event called TheBattle of the Blood Moon The castle and region was formally acknowledged by the other baronies of Andrim as the domain of Count Auberdine "Dean" Callisto Callisto, a title bestowed upon him by Edmund Bettigar for saving his life from the Blue Skull Orc tribe. Count Callisto and his friends settled the lands of Rend and rebuilt the old castle; restoring it not only to its former glory, but far beyond.
Though on the border of the regions Bettigar and Tor, It is actually considered Autonomous by both baronies.
The Castle itself seems to have taken on a slightly magical aura, either being influenced by the Count's gifts with magic or its prolonged exposure to the feywild during its 20 years of endless summer. Rend's Endless Summer was ended by Norebo after his promise with Ser Arkus Ovar was ended by Arkus's son Oden "Dok" Suv.
Over the next three years their adventures together brought more and more people to budding village, which quickly became a town. After one succesful venture, the Inn known as Feels and Fools opened, which cemented Rend as a town welcoming of Adventurers and the Free Lancers of Andrim.
Rend was ravaged by an event called the Battle of the Void, in which Mind Flayers invaded the small village and raided it with Nautaloids while the heroes of Castle Rend assaulted the Illithid's home city in return. Eventually the city was saved, but not by its Count; instead it was Ajax The Invincible who emerged from the very sky itself and rescued the citizens of Rend. This strange act was seemingly in spite of how defiant Rend and it's cohorts stood in open defiance of The Black Iron Pact and all of the the laws of the Iron Lord.
