As'sos
An As'sos (Gotthikós: "ace") is a trained specialist within the Kost'oum'i. Roughly equivalent to a designated marksman in an Astra Militarum infantry squad, he is equipped with a precision-tuned pulse rifle fitted with a scope which he uses to engage and destroy high-value targets on the battlefield. The As'sos is considered the leader of the five warriors in the Kost'oum'i equiped with pulse rifles (the "odds"). There is often tension between him and the Kost'oum'i's D'eka as to who is the higher ranking (Antak'yan combat doctrine is unclear on this, and it varies depending on the nature of the mission and the composition of the Kh'eri chosen for a particular engagement).
Qualifications
Some length of service as a warrior in a Kat'astrom'a and demonstrated marksmanship ability.
Duties
Engage with and destroy high-value targets on the battlefield.
