Les Frères de Bouclier
Les Frères de Bouclier (Gothique "shield brothers" (lit. "brothers of the shield")) are the elite of Les Chevaliers d'Outremer. The equivalent of the Sword Brethren in the Black Templars, the core of them were the companions of Maréchal Hugh who went into exile with him. Called "the men who stood by me in my time of trial" they are his bosom companions and most trusted advisors, even though none of them hold high rank in Les Chevaliers. The other shield brothers have been given the title in recognition of their faith, fighting prowess and loyalty to Hugh and Melisende.
