Outremarin Cross

The symbol of the realm of Outremer and the heraldic charger of Les Chevaliers d'Outremer, the Outremarin Cross consists of a large cross with four smaller crosses in the quarter spaces formed by its arms.   The larger cross symbolizes Baudouin d'Châtillon, regarded as the rightful king of Outremer by Les Chevaliers, and the smaller ones his daughters - les quatre reines (Gothique: the four queens) Melisende, Haalis, Hodierna and Ioveta.   The style of the crosses varies - they can be plain with straight arms, or more decorated with bars at the arms' ends. The latter style - echoing as it does the ancient Terran letter 'T' or 'tau' - is used to denote the Imperium's conquest of T'au territory to found the realm of Outremer.
