Reine

The title Reine or La Reine (Gothique: "Queen") is given to female rulers of Outremer and allied realms. If used without qualification, the title La Reine normally refers to Melisende although Hodierna, Haalis and Ioveta are also referred to by the title Reine.
The term Les Quatre Reines (Gothique: "the four queens") is commonly used to collectively refer to the four daughters of Baudouin d'Châtillon, especially in reference to their depiction in the Outremarin Cross.
In the theology of the Ghibbeline Cult Reine takes on an additional significance; the four daughters of Baudouin are objects of veneration within the cult as living exemplars of the feminine.
