The sacred lake

The shrine of Oal-Mer

The sacred lake is where the god Oal-Mer first appeared before the Kukai, thus becoming the Followers of Oal-Mer. This is a natural shrine which has remained wild and unaltered ever since the first encounter with the kukai god. The Nur also come to this place in order to acquire Sacred water, an important item for the combat rituals.   This water formation is located right between the villages of Oalmer and Pukamut, meaning that only they can get to the sacred lake within a single day of travel.

Geography

The sacred lake is located in the tropical rain forest. The water of this lake is formed by a small fall of water, apparently born from an underground river coming from the north. It is also said that the lake is connected to a different underground water ecosystem which ca only be accessed by the Paiko Mutikai.   Besides the paiko mutikai, few animals exist in this small region, probably because they are aware of the Kukai presence. However, this natural shrine has a variety of flora, mostly flowers that surround the lake.

Ecosystem

The only animal known to live, and probably exist, in the sacred lake is the Paiko Mutikai. The Kukai from Oalmer and Pukamut villages also frequent this place in order to perform the ritual for the Sacred water.   Though there are no fruiting trees or berries nearby, the lake is surrounded with different kinds of flowers, including the traditional Foam lavender. However, since this place is considered holy, the kukai will never alter or take anything from the sacred lake.

Localized Phenomena

Only few of the Paiko Mutikai are seen at the lake, even though they are the only species that live there. Even more strange is the fact that the Kukai never see the same paiko mutikai twice, meaning that plenty of the actually live in the lake. Some people say that these sacred creatures may be able to change it's color and size, while others believe that there's an underground biome where the paiko mutikai actually come from.
