Woundsday, Tailormoon, 1313

General Summary

No further Dex damage to Hugo
2 Paracelsis Darktusks:
"She knows about the Tengu. Connie told her."
"This particular motif is the one that I am studying at the moment. We managed to map a progression throughout time and across cultures. One of the really interesting things is that each culture seems to depict the figures differently, and sometimes even within the culture the depictions change. But always a combination of the familiar and the otherly. Always almost like up, but not quite. Three different figures, three different species, all approximately humanoid, but unlike any species known."
Basil recording of Qumin's Lecture
Hugo’s numbers: +2 w/ Dargents (for giving them [some] information about Fake-Yvette). -1 w/ Bakerstreets (Wiggin believes me (although she doesn’t like me very much!) not so much Cobbler).
Wiggin is not the type to keep an incident board, but if she did it would have a picture of Hugo on it labelled “This frickin’ guy”.
Fnifs weighs 13 lbs.
+2 survival with Guiding Star spell in Labyrinth.
Labyrinth entrance is a pantry, mousetrap kitty!
Saved the baby (Halfpint) but she is now asleep.
Minotaurs
  • Minotaurs fairly rare – was said that some of the Warren tunnels, e.g. the Tangle, were inhabited by Minotaurs previously.
  • Seem to have mostly died out.
  • Competing theory that they are merely choosing to hide.
  • Minotaurs and labyrinths have a symbiotic relationship. Labyrinths constructed or maintained by a minotaur gain a supernatural tendency to protect the minotaur from being found against its will.
  • Hunting and defence tactic
  • “You never found a minotaur in its own labyrinth, the minotaur found you.”
  • No-one has found a sleeping Minotaur in its own lair.
  • This means that, whatever facilitated the possession of the Minotaurs didn’t register as a threat to the Labyrinth.
This Razor was designed not to be easily damaged – wouldn’t leave residue.
Breaking Gem would release Sweeney.
Chaotic Good – Halfpint.
Neutral Evil – Sweeney.
Greco Classical round room.
Pedestal street fountain.
  • Marble
  • Flagon filling lever
  • Milk
  • Not trap.
4 rows of tankards at different height levels: Daisy measures just under 10 ft.
Voice cacophony is controlling the possessed Minotaurs.
Sweeney: “Hello again, Lindie” [similar to ogre language, it’s a dialect of giant language]
Lindie: “What happened to you? You’re in pieces.”
Sweeney: “Not for long.”

No more Drug Tapas.
Ears of the City
Round 1 – Where is razor?
Beastfolk (with fur) being infected by hair and drawn to the labyrinth. Generally always being towards the editor’s office.
Round 2 & Round 3 – What makes people accept the razor shard?
Everything fades and blurs out and behind them is the whispering cacophony of “do it”, “stop resisting”, “do it”.
Round 4 – Do what?
Brief images of people or creatures. There’re people holding still while something is stabbed into their neck, patrolling, resetting traps, people going out to find more people, attacking or sometimes defending. Brief flash of a wall (plain office wall) that has been splattered with blood and hair of different colours. The hair has been stuck to the wall with the blood to complete a tapestried image of Connie and Vulpix. The stolen people have been shown the mural. Most of the hair is arranged vertically, but both have a single red strand of bloody hair placed horizontally across the neck.
Round 5 – Sweeney? (On Lindie’s instruction – which gets Connie shaken)
Nothing for the most part. Glimpse of a flash scene: 2 figures. One is medium sized and dumpy (Bullford?) and the other is a large, horned thing. There is a brief snippet of speech, “Call me Sweeney”.
Round 6 – Nell Loveheart?
Nothing.
+1 evil razor shard
Belle's chapel
We’re lost in ivy.
Cheap bottom-of-the-line tallow with salt in wax that gives off salty odour.
Empty milk bottle trash sculpture – some kind of large, amorphous, diaphanous creature
Female creature with large axe (bigger than Lindie, smaller than Daisy)
Shards of glass frozen together by frozen milk axe
Probably Mongrelfolk - two species in particular: orc and minotaur
Daisy is a Minotaur commoner.
Belle Buttercream
Has 1 of Beozar's Pamphlets
Has Printer’s ink on her – part Darktusk.
2 shaved journalists : Ratfolk and Catfolk (Ratfolk journalist recognised by Lindie, he used to have reddish brown fur, but is being piloted by non-russet hair)
2 beggars : Ratfolk and Vanaran – all shaved and dead
Bugsby Crit makes a Zorro sign in the shape of a B.
No spells left!!!
Boulder Pasodoble is a security guard.
Alchemical check on our bottles from the library:
  • Black-grey and red gas bottle is a pre-set Summon Monster 3 spell. Probably an illegal Div/Genie monster. Could use as if summoning (but not magically traceable as such). No magical knowledge is needed to activate the spell potion.
  • Other potion from the library is the same idea but it contains a Summon Monster 4 spell and will summon an Aghash.
  • The potion from Panopticon temple was a potion of Mage Armour.
Connie turns into a Wolf-Hybrid… immediately regrets it. (But succeeds Will save for fear)
Wispy line has a residual conjuration aura.
Labyrinth has a residual conjuration aura.
Echo is a Level 3 Adept.
Lindie “borrows” Boulder’s Minotaur Belt.
Detect Thoughts (from All-Seeing Eye)
Bramble Plant Thoughts
  • Vague image of Echo
  • Desire to protect and defend.
  • Reverent gratitude towards the Prince of Rabbits (the plant is religious!!)
Echo Thoughts
  • Afraid and in pain, she is trying to put on a brave face.
  • It is very important to Echo what Connie thinks of her.
  • Religious reverence and precocious schoolgirl crush
  • Romantic? (More confused)
  • Uncomfortable with Connie’s wolf form, and worried whether Connie will be able to turn back.
  • Constantly has a background archivist record mode (figuring out wordings for how she’s going to describe any of this)
Bugsby Thoughts
  • An extremely powerful need to protect Echo and keep her alive
  • Is a friend, but Bugsby is mostly trying to not let down Brer Bigwig, his lord, who gave him the task of protecting the archivist.
  • Bugsby is loyal to the Bramble Church mostly for feudal reasons, rather than religious ones.
  • He is aware that Bramble’s oracle is important, but he doesn’t know why.
  • A bit honoured to be here.
  • Doesn’t like the wolf: he’s impressed by her combat abilities, but it makes him uncomfortable.
  • Recognises both the Wolf and Lindie as predators.
  • Bugsby is most conflicted that he sometimes has to kill things.
  • Creatures that intend to kill are difficult to comprehend and he doesn’t like any part of it.
  • They are alien to his code.
  • Defend don’t attack, and to go out and attack would be demonic – the Terrier beneath the Sands
  • Recognises something of that in Wolf and Lindie
  • Resentful of Connie for Wolf and bringing them to Labyrinth
  • More anxious than outward, lingering memory of personally having been hijacked by hair – rattled.
Connie Thoughts
  • Nervous of what they’ve gotten themselves into.
  • She had underestimated the difficulty and danger of the Labyrinth.
  • Worried about her Bunbun friends: had brought them to keep them safe from the Dargents while Hugo was unable to protect them or keep them in his room: and now Echo is hurt (and they have no spells left!)
  • Nervous about her wolf-form, how the Bunbun will react, and also hates being in this form.
  • Concerned about what it’s doing with her connection to Brambleson.
  • Memories of the moon, “I told you what would happen if we stayed with the noble”.
  • Fear (and suspicion) of Lindie – particularly her mention of the Razor’s name.
Wolf Thoughts
  • “Well, this is a step in the right direction.”
  • Hair Thoughts
  • Plant-level sentience
  • Fragment, the image of Connie and Vulpix with their throats cut.
  • “Kill, kill, kill, kill”.
  • Larger than minotaur image of Sweeney – 12 ft.
  • Razor Thoughts
    • Trapped: being trapped has become tiresome
    • It has been chipping away at its prison and widening the space it can occupy.
    • It intends to break out and thinks it can, given time.
    • It has some unfinished business that it could put off until after breaking out … but it just can’t.
    • Killing the friends of Lindie, the Vishkanya (“I made a promise”), it gets harder to think of doing anything else.
    • Extremely frustrating and furious – it got so close!
    • Div obsession
    • Usually prides itself on its aloof dispassion.
    • Embarrassed by how badly it wants to kill anyone this much.
    • Flaw in its creation
    • Memories
      • Todfrey Laurence: [voice only] “Absolutely, just leave me out of it and we’ve got a deal.”
      • euphoria at breaking that promise by slicing Todfrey’s throat.
    • Can’t stand keeping promises.
    Sanctuary - Breakroom
A secret door that some power has allowed us into the secret of
Neutral Evil presence around Editor door, stronger behind it, also a lingering Lawful Evil presence
    Breakroom
Clockwork coffee machine with a row of coffee mugs
Portrait opposite the door of an elderly male Grippli on a neutral background, wearing a beige suit, similar to that of the editor – family resemblance. Thoughtful and austere.
    Frogacious Bullanger Namibian Sandhill-Mudskip
Rest of space taken up by all 4 sleeping Minotaurs
A “Hallow” effect on the room (moderate Evocation of the Good subschool).
    • Warded against evil, positive energy.
    • Makes a room count as Holy.
    • Immune to becoming undead.
    • Unfamiliar divine influence, but it is benevolent to Minotaurs.
    • Lined with the Minotaur/maze symbiosis.
