Servants And Pets

Tragedy has recently struck the House of Darktusk, one of the two Orcish noble families in the Noble Court (the other being their ally, House Greenskin). After the Patchwork Empire's attack on the Darktusk Estate, on Copperday, Soldiermoon, 1313, then-Vizier Jafar Darktusk was killed. His son, Sheikh Darktusk was framed for the murder and a Whisper Vote called for his execution and his wife, Quince Darktusk-Carterhold's banishment, leaving only baby Gast Darktusk to take the role of Vizier. The House is now stewarded by Cassim Ashhide until Gast is old enough to take on his duties as Vizier.

Structure

Currently

Vizier
Vizier Gast Darktusk: The only remaining legitimate member of House Darktusk, baby Vizier Gast Darktusk is the Half-Orc grandson of the former Vizier Jafar Darktusk. Being still a baby, the voting duties and care of Gast has fallen to the closest non-noble relative of House Darktusk, Cassim Ashhide.

Formerly

Vizier and Viziera
Vizier Jafar Darktusk (d.): Until recently, Vizier Jafar Darktusk commanded an imposing presence in the spiked war-wheelchair that he was confined to. Although formidible in his prime, stalwart against the encroaching human influence in the early days of the human takeover of the noble court, towards the end of his life, Jafar became old and unwell, although he remained beligerent and cruel. During the funeral of his daughter, Arib, Jafar was killed in the Patchwork Empire attack on the Darktusk Estate by Philly who was disguised to look like Sheikh.
Unknown Viziera (d.): Jafar's wife is not listed in the Peerage of the Second Court.
Subvizier and Subviziera
Subvizier Sheikh Darktusk (executed): With his father, Jafar, unwell and confined to his wheelchair, the day-to-day responsibilities of the Darktusk household and its areas of concern were left to Subvizier Sheikh Darktusk. Known as the Two-Day Vizier, Sheikh was framed for the murder of his father by the Patchwork Empire, and a Whisper Vote in absentia called for his execution.
Subviziera Quince Darktusk-Carterhold (banished): The younger daughter of Vizier Djann Carterhold, Quince Darktusk-Carterhold was the Subviziera (and briefly Viziera) of the House of Darktusk, until she was banished from the Court in the same Whisper Vote on Takesday, Soldiermoon, 1313 that called for her husband Sheikh's execution.
Vizier's Other Children
Katiba Arib Darktusk (d.): Sheik's older sister, Katiba Arib Darktusk was extremely proud of her orcish heritage and secretly terrified of the more powerful humanity that has taken over the city. She was officially a Soldierite and wore her traditional orcish armour to compete in the Rhino-slaying event of the 1313 Blademas tournament. She was killed a few days later by Lindie Asklepa in the Minotaur's Labyrinth while searching for her brother.

Culture

Nightmares
"As for the Darktusk family, their vizier I know well. For he experiences nightmares often and vividly. He fears two things, really, and little beyond. Impotence and death. I suspect on one level he knows one of them has already struck him down and the other one is waiting in the wings. His son fears many things. He fears being outsmarted. He has nightmares of conflict, war, assassination, of being judged and found wanting by his father, by the nobles of his court. By the humans who have seized control of his city. His sister in a strange way fears only one thing, though her nightmares do look similar on the surface. She sees many of the same images but her only fear is humanity. And the little boy, I always love the fears of little children. So pure, so uncomplicated. He fears clowns, he fears the loss of his dear possessions. He fears losing his mother’s grip in a crowded street. He fears that his relatives may be dragged down the plug hole by unseen forces and forgotten."The Man Who Is Not There tells Lindie Asklepa the nightmares of the Noble Court.

History

Goldday, Tinkermoon, 1313
Vizier Djann Carterhold's slow support of the Darktusk's ally, Vizier Kronk Greenskin during a Whisper Vote left the Darktusks uneasy about their standing with the more powerful human House Carterhold, despite their supposed political marriage through Subviziera Quince Darktusk-Carterhold, Djann's daughter.
