EDIT: I know that Lily was a redhead in the books, but there are enough redheads in this series and not enough blondes. Redheads only make up 1.5% of the world's population. Blondes are sooooo much more common but there's very few in HP - most of whom are evil characters. So! I'm making Lily a blonde like her sister because Book-Petunia is blonde. Rose is also blonde - I accidentally put that she was a redhead in chapter 2, but I fixed it because she's blonde in later chapters.
Lily Evans was born in Belfast, Ireland to the Muggle Evans family and was the younger sister to Petunia Evans. She learned that she was a witch at the age of 13 when she was invited to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 1856. There, she befriended Amelia Bones and Remus Lupin, and eventually fell in love with James Potter, who was Head Boy when she was Head Girl.
After graduation in 1863, Lily lived in Edinburgh with James, who abandoned Potter Manor after his parents were murdered there in 1864. James began work as a Healer at St. Mungo's Hospital while Lily became an Auror for the Ministry of Magic to fight Voldemort. The couple were married in 1865, and planned to relocate to China to have a family in 1868 but were attacked by Voldemort. Upon learning that Lily was pregnant, they went into hiding in Godric's Hollow in England, where their son, Henry Potter, was born in September 1868.
On Beltane (May 1) of 1871, the family was attacked in Godric's Hollow by Voldemort. Lily fought against him, but was defeated and left for dead. She gifted all of her magic to her son to try to save him, and died from her injuries without knowing the fate of her husband and child.
