Astral Sea
Shortly after The Age of Mortality, the Astral Plane began to flood. Prodigous amounts of water started flowing in through a myriad of portals, initially creating large "bubbles' of water centered on the portals. After a few years of this nonstop intake, however, these have began to merge together and create the Astral Sea, an amorphous blob of magical fluid which now holds more liquid than the entire Prime Material Plane does. Although the Astral Plane is itself infinite and can never be truly "filled", the Astral Sea is by itself large enough to practically be a plane all on its own.
The liquid is not any normal water, however. It is sparkling, radiant, and extraordinarily cold. Most matter that comes into contact with the Astral Sea is dissolved instantly by the radiance, and material that survives that is typically frozen solid. Living creatures take damage equivalent to lava (6d10 for contact, 10d10 for wading, 18d10 for submersion). This damage cannot be resisted unless the character has resistance to both radiant and cold damage.
Since The Raven Queen died during Ragnarok, Olidammara now rules the Astral Plane. Legends tell of ghost ships sailing on the astral sea in order to carry the recently departed to a nearby portal so they can begin their new lives in one of the outer planes.
