OttC Session 4: Moon Plague in Sigil
General Summary
Emergency callout
Some time has passed since the previous mission, and it is now February 16th. The party begins the session in The Drunken Mongoose. There is some brief small talk which is quickly interrupted by Pixo charging into the bar. It seems Warehouse 19 is being besieged by monsters.Hook Horrors
The party does combat with several hook horrors that are attacking civilians in Warehouse 19. Of the six civilians in the room, only two survive. Cyrci sustains heavy injuries, but the party is mostly kept in tact.Garfield the Deals Warlock
The party travels up a set of stairs, through a hallway with no doors, and then down another staircase to find Garfield the Deals Warlock looking over a severely battered Murphy. Garfield claims a team of Doormen had gone to The Abyss and encountered a pack of hook horrors (external link). During the fight one member of the team (Murphy, the man unconscious in the room) was transformed into a hook horror himself. The squad had obtained a mirror of life trapping (external link) and used it to capture the entire pack, Murphy included. Garfield was hired to bring these creatures out, one at a time, in order to identify which one was actually Murphy. Unfortunately the first hook horror he unleashed destroyed the mirror, causing them to all go free at once and wreak havoc. Garfield himself had clearly just finished doing battle with Murphy, who supposedly reverted to his normal self shortly after being defeated in combat. Garfield is thankful, but also suggests everyone go into quarantine, per standard protocols at The Window. An excellent history check by Jennevieve Lancaster allows her to recall the existence of Moon Plague, an extremely infectious form of Therianthropy that has been ravaging the other planes. Garfield, highly concerned that this might be what is happening, casts sending on an old acquaintance, Vun Roade, to ask if he knows anything. Vun Roade tells Garfield that Moon Plague patients have two souls.Garfield hires a prostitute
Garfield thinks for a few moments, before coming up with a rather unorthodox solution: hire a prostitute from the Temple of Passion. An incubus by the name of Jhorrad arrives, inspects everybody in the building, and diagnoses only Garfield and Murphy with Moon Plague. Zgathor Scalescribe also converses with the patients, requesting permission to observe and study them. He will return at a later time to investigate the disease further. After some debate, small talk, and Zgathor Scalescribe finding a bag of Skein under the table, the party takes Jhorrad back to The Window, to check others from the same squad.Checking in with Pixo
First the party visits Pixo in his office and updates him on the situation. Pixo is extremely concerned, and hesitantly poses the question of whether or not it is safe to allow the patients to live. If it spreads to the entire populace, there are serious concerns that the city may fall as a result.Pearl Glove
Zgathor Scalescribe now has a pearl, obtained from Garfield earlier in the session, and asks Cyrci to craft them a special glove that would keep said pearl in the center of his palm at all times. Cyrci quickly agrees to this.Moon Plague at the Window
The party employs Jhorrad to check others who were exposed and are sitting in the medical ward. There are five more infections, including two clerics and three Doormen. Krisi reports this to Pixo, who plans to retain the services of a concubi through the Church of the Broken Wing. He thinks he should be able to keep one on staff by this means without having to continue paying fees to the Temple of Passion.Zgathor and the Pendant
Zgathor Scalescribe identifies the Ouroboros Pendant, understanding its function but not its origins. They decide to put it on and describe its powers to the rest of the party, but a failed wisdom save compels Zgathor Scalescribe to return to the Chapel of Chains alone. Yona and Aerwynn can tell that something is fishy, but neither stop Zgathor Scalescribe from leaving.
