The Window
The Window is the cartographer's guild of Sigil. It is headed by a Kenku named Pixo. Due to the ever-changing nature of Sigil, The Window is actually considered a humanitarian organization, and regarded highly by the entire populace. They are not dedicated to mapping Sigil itself, or even The Outlands, but instead they map the connections between Sigil and the other planes.
In previous ages, many of the doors in Sigil were actually connected to other planes of existence, but you would not normally be able to tell which ones these were just by looking at them. The Window was founded early in Sigil's existence to identify which doors are which, and to keep updating that knowledge as the portals shift and change. They were responsible for painting doorframes within the city to inform residents and travelers which ones were safe to pass through and which were not.
The constant planar travel involved in this endeavor attracted a great many adventurers, especially bards and rangers. Scholars also frequently traveled alongside expedition parties, so that they could inform the adventurers about the place they have just stumbled into and record any new discoveries for the benefit of others. Due to the complex nature of this endeavor, The Window invented a magical tome known as Tikipedia, which is a magical encyclopedia with many contributors throughout the multiverse. When any individual copy is modified, the others magically reflect the new change. They use this both as a crucial component of their expeditions and as a source of income.
In recent times, however, the scope of The Window's responsibilities have shifted. Ever since the end of The Age of Mortality, these connections between Sigil and the other planes have been severed. In addition, the city has been plunged into eternal twilight, as the sun ceased its movement through the sky. Only one door now functions, thanks to the intervention of The Traveler and Penguin. This is known as The Wandering Door, and The Window is recognized as the sole owner of the door with complete authority to control who passes through. They venture out to places unknown in search of a solution; and also simply to keep their home alive.
