OttD Session 4: Almost Awesome

General Summary

The party begins the session with a long rest. Bright and early in the morning, they are pulled aside by Sconce. Sconce asks them to make sure his friends don't try to investigate his demise, or help him in what he describes as a "suicide mission". He also instructs them to pick a fight with one of his friends. The party chooses to fight Mama Bear, and she fights in her Ursinthrope form. The party handily defeats this encounter, and are paid 500g each for the entertainment. Unfortunately, they then find out that they had unknowingly entered a tournament. They had two more fights to do, with the option to refuse one. Their next encounter was with a young black dragon. The party debated whether to refuse, and then Tornac charged in, and so the fight began. The party was completely wiped out, but the dragon chose to do non-lethal damage during the fight and so the party found themselves woken up by Mama Bear after their defeat. The party then returned to the church and spoke to Penguin. Pestle repaid the remainder of his debt, then he and Sconce held a bidding war to purchase a bag of 5 magic beans from Penguin. Tornac won.
