Special Operations Cohort

The Special Operations Cohort (S.O.C.) was a special unit of the Imperial Army formed during The Eleven Year War. It operated during the years 721 and 724 AKC. In comparison to other units it composed specialists with a wide variety of different skill sets. The unit had 25 members: 20 Specialists, 3 Corporals, 1 Sergeant and 1 Captain. The Captain of the unit, Lord Regent Flün Hilltopple, later became the first Lord Regent of Weresoc.
The S.O.C. conducted multiple high-profile missions during the last three years of The Eleven Year War, mainly in mountainous environment. Their missions were most often to capture Dhussin military technology, gather intelligence behind enemy lines or to eliminate high ranking Dhussin targets.   Until 724 AKC the S.O.C. had one of the highest success rates of any military unit within the Imperial Army. This changed when the unit was ambushed and nearly wiped out during the attack on Svoskamsk in late 724 AKC. Bad intelligence and inadequate preparation lead to the death of 21 of its members. The remaining members of the unit were tasked with the security and oversight of the peace negotiations with Dhussin, during which they successfully prevented multiple assassination attempts.   With the peace treaty between the Empire and Dhussin 724 AKC, the Special Operations Cohort was disbanded.
