Vor Ziyden
A small village with a forgotten past, located in Dorvinia.
Demographics
Only humans call Vor Ziyden home. The populace is not really familiar with demihumans but isn't too xenophobic either. They know of their existence and that's it. As long as people keep to themselves, they're treated with cold respect by Vor Ziydans.
In general, people are nice to you if you're nice to them. If they feel in danger, don't expect to be helped, though.
Few people live very well here, and most of the population is composed of serfs and commoners that tend to the fields.

Government
Barony
Baron Hedeon Andaas, Baronesa Marta Fortich, and Baron Burian Septow are the official rulers and landowners, but the common populace is mostly unaffected by political matters.
The village is pretty independent of Dorvinia's laws and rules.

History
For as long as it can be remembered, the town was sought after for its heavy deposits of silver and minerals. Constant conflicts during the The War of Silver Knives and frequent earthquakes and disasters led to a long hiatus in the mining activities, which were forgotten for a long time.
The rich soil of the hills surrounding the village, and the surplus of water from several springs in the mountains led Vor Ziyden to a more agricultural life, and slowly its wines became famous over the Lands of the Core, and the mines were forgotten. A new family, the Salvatores, though, arrived and established their reign over the northern mines in the early 600s. For decades they benefited from the activities until an explosion on the 15th of March 724BC caused multiple deaths and led the family patriarch to end the activities.
Every few years after that, new entrepreneurs tried their luck, but none had much.
Recently a new mining company re-opened older tunnels closer to the base of Mount Gries. It is still not known who's really behind these activities but Baron Septow seems to be involved.

Architecture
Most of the buildings have a strong Barovian influence, made out of wood and stone on the first floor and of wood on the subsequent floors. Criss-crossed patterns of exposed wooden beams decorate the whitewashed facades of the buildings, with triangular-shaped roofs made with timber.
In general, most buildings are well kept and the village has a very nice aspect. During Spring, people decorate their window sills with seasonal flowers.
Geography
Nestled in a valley in Dorvinia, in the Ziyden Woods, Vor Ziyden is walled by mountains in the north, with Mount Gries being the highest point of the mountain range. Vor Ziyden is surrounded by lush temperate forests all around and has the beautiful Strecura River at its southern border that separates the Ziyden Woods from the Tainted Woods. In the Northeast, Lake Srebo is a beauty to behold at the base of Mount Gries, where the Strecura River originates.
Natural Resources
Its mines in the north are full of silver, precious stones, and minerals. Its lands are fertile and great for agriculture, with a focus on grapevines for its premium export wines.
