Azala Yazen is often seen with Director Airheart , keeping her informed of events at the labs, and ensure that the director's assignments are delivered and carried out. A gifted scientist in her own right, Azala is noted for her work with Izzet Weirds (elemental creatures created by fusing elemental magic with life essence).

Yazen tends to use her magic to show off. She usually has some glowing element on her outfit to stand out against her red hair. When doing work in the labs or in the field with the director, Yazen tends to dress like one of the techs. But those who see her for a night on the town or accompanying Director Airheart to a Board meeting often don't recognize her right away. She cleans up nicely.
