Shanine Council

Structure

Shanin Council Members make up the organization, with individuals specializing in fields that make them ideal for having a voice in the country's politics and leadership. Although any field can technically qualify, the ones favored are agriculture, economics, trade, social work, disaster relief, humanities, civil services, and education, ecology, foreign relations, and meteorology being considered much more favorably with the public.   The Council Head has much more power over the rest of the council and is voted for every two years by council members. The Council Head will hold votes for policy that is written into law, the power to veto policy, to begin the process on voting out members not acting in the public's best interest, and propose changes to existing policy.

Culture

All members of the council are highly respected, being viewed as leaders of their community and the most qualified individuals in their respective fields in order to be considered for the position. As such, they are held in high regard and often given special privileges, such as free food and drink at most locations within Shanai, travel fees waived, and often are not made to wait in line for services.

Public Agenda

Every member of the council seeks to improve their respective field for the better of the country, representing not only themselves, but all workers in their field and civilians impacted by it. All council members are considered to act in the best interest of the public at all times and to work cooperatively with other members of the council to ensure that there is no infighting and competition.

Ethics

There is no hard rule against it, however strong cultural pressure against members of the council from acting for their own benefit. Those who do so can be dismissed and prevented from being reelected by the public or even publically, and often brutally, dismissed by Fire God Vega himself to an incredible amount of public shame.
