Waterfall Lane

Geography

Waterfall Lane is a river system on the western side of Mount Shanai fed by snowmelt running all the way to the ocean. Hence its namesake, Waterfall Lane has numerous beautiful, steep waterfalls. The terrain surrounding Waterfall Lane is incredibly steep cliffs of moss covered stone, bordered by dense jungle and rainforest.

Tourism

Due to its beauty, Waterfall Lane sees hundreds of tourists each year for photographs and sightseeing. Many weddings on Shanai held by tourists often will visit the river. There are several trails and paths around Waterfall Lane along with small clearings for photos.   The area is also prone to incredibly dangerous sports such as white water rafting, cliff jumping, and diving most often held by tourists not familiar with the area. These activities are highly discouraged by locals and law enforcement, as the waterfalls are incredibly steep, some being as high as 60 feet, and rapids often too quick and large to traverse. There are several deaths each year due to this, most of which being tourists, although several can be attributed to rescue workers who also met their end attempting to rescue those in distress.
