Avernus

Avernus is the entry point into the Nine Hells. It is the primary battleground of the Blood War between the devils and demons.

The gate to the next level, Dis, is through the Caves of Greed, guarded by Tiamat the Avaricious .

Geography

Avernus is now mostly a blasted and abandoned wasteland, with a few oasis of its former deceptive beauty. Most functioning structures are military citadels for the devilish legions.
