The Siege of Boulogne

The HMS Mary Rose arrives in the harbour of Boulogne-sur-Mer in late July, 1544. As her many guns begin bombarding the castle and its upper and lower cities, the captain sends two crews of sailors and soldiers on a C&C run - they are to Clear and Commandeer the seemingly abandoned ships remaining in the harbour.

Five ships are in the harbour, this is the encounter breakdown per ship from left to right:

  • Emma faces four french sailors with swords backed by three royal marines in the hold of the first ship.
  • The second ship has nothing of value left, and whoever was set to ambush from it abandoned their post.
  • The third ship has ten French sailors with swords.
  • The fourth ship is a cog filled with barrels of something, and has its rudder locked so that it can only sail forward.
  • The fifth ship has twenty men led by a very pissed off supernatural Frenchman.
  • After the ships are pacified, the Mary Rose settles in for a bombardment. They spend a month bombarding the city until the captain receives orders to hunt French ships that are raiding supply lines.
