Churufu State

The Independent State of Churufu separated from the ancient Kingdom of Epicuros (a vassal state of the Kingdom of Arborea) at the time of the Arcane Struggle. When the Afides ruling family was exterminated, the surviving members of the nobility retreated to live on estates along the coast. The rebels (practitioners of traditional Soslith magic) then took control of much of the territory, but were unable to completely defeat the nobles.   Various battles followed one another over the years, with neither losers nor winners, until the creation of the League and the Senate, which put an end to disputes and clashes.   To maintain their high way of life, the So'slith of Churufu have chosen a duarchy (called Knarr) as their method of governance, The Protector, who is concerned with protecting the state and citizens, and the Builder, who is concerned with develop the territory and make the citizens "rich and happy".   For many centuries the only interest of the inhabitants of Churufu was to restore the unity of the territories of the Kingdom of Epicuros and defeat the rebels who had forced them to abandon their homes and possessions. The recent fall of the Kingdom of Tarcas has raised a new concern among the inhabitants of Churufu, consisting of the presence of Darkness to the north of their lands.   A large army has been hastily mobilized to oppose the incursions of the Demons, not a day goes by in the cities of Churufu there are deaths and other horrible news to undermine the morale of the population.   Given the danger represented by the Darkness, the current Protector, Song'gar'tah, would be inclined to ask for military aid from the Kingdom of Arborea, but within the League, the idea of having foreign soldiers on its territory is not viewed favorably .
