Tsuya is a very competent paladin of Hiega,
Leader of the
Order of the Lioness, and the founder of
The Cord.
Personal History
Born into the financially secure
Ai Family, Tsuya was raised comfortably in
Zonyashi. Her mother,
Honomi Ai, never let her take it for granted though. Where many kids are forced to spend their youth working, Tsuya studied and trained instead. She was intelligent, strong, and devout to
Hiega.
When Tsuya was still young the family was run by her mother's uncle Koji Ai. When Tsuya was twelve Koji died, and his daughter
Katsumi Ai became the new head of the family. Tsuya and her mother were members of the branch family and not the head branch, but they both worked hard to bring prosperity to the family nevertheless. It was around this time that Honami took over the operations of
Heartwood Trading entirely.
In S305 Tsuya left the city to learn what deeds she could accomplish for herself. As a paladin of Hiega she travelled the
Northern Province and within only a year had made enough of a name for herself to impress the elven ranger
Elmara Truestride and the two began to travel together. In 307 she also recruited
Brooke and
Aiko Amaya, and the four women became the
Order of the Lioness.
Her order cemented their fame only a year later when they saved
Crystal Reef from a sahuagin assault, and their opportunities grew from there.
Driven by her desire to live up to her mother's example, Tsuya looked for a way to leverage their success to help more people while also supporting her family. It took many years to put together, but in S312 this led to the founding of
The Cord, and organization that supports adventuring parties while also commercializing their endeavours. Tsuya runs daily operations at
Haven in Zonyashi, but the role is more difficult for her than leading an adventuring party ever was. As she continues to grow into the position, she occasionally leans on her mother for guidance and support.
