Geshari (Ge-SHAR-ri)

The Geshari are the people who live in the South of the known world, around the Askahara river. They claim to trace their history back to the end of Unura's Winter, and have built their culture around ancient temples who they believe where built before the War of Ashes.

The Askahara river defines the life of the Geshari, who farm the lands along the river in harmony with the flooding and retracting of the river. Many Geshari also make a living as clerics and sorcerers, who maintain many cults around the ancient temples of Gesha.

The Geshari are humans. They have medium to dark brown skin, and dark hair. Small communities of elves also live and work around the temples, and they tend to have similar skin and hair as their human neighbours.

The Geshari worship all the gods of the pantheon, at a more or less equal level, with the exception of The Lords of Malice, who are worshipped only in secret. Baal, however, is also worshipped in the open, as the Lord of Night, and as one of the Seven.

Culture

Major language groups and dialects

Geshari is the language of Gesha. Most cultural exchange is with the Perikonese and Tetsugawans, so those are the most common second languages in Gesha, though Dunorian and Sarkaran are not unheard of.
