Vaku Jirako (Va-ku Ji-ra-ko)
Vagu Jirako is a country famous for its rising and falling of empires and kings. It has had a rough history and is currently in a slump. Its economic system is failing and the king is currently trying to get more trade.
People
The people can be seen as rough and mean, occasionally. But they are good people and are almost no-nonsense. The father, usually the protective figure, must make a good impression wherever he goes. A bad impression could ruin his reputation and cause his family to be impoverished. The children are a reflection of the mother. If the children are unruly and misbehaving that reflects on the mother and lowers the chance of her getting a job or progressing in society. However, even though the culture is strict and anyone seen acting out is generally looked down upon, hard work is encouraged. A hard working man is seen as good, and even if he does make a bad impression is hard work can easily make up for it. A smart women is seen as a gift and a mother is honored. Even if her children are being unruly she will still be treated with some respect. The children are taught to obey their parents, while the parents are "taught" to listen to their children's hurts no matter how trivial it may be.Structure
The head of the country is the king. He controls the food supply and the banking system. He makes sure people are only given the minimum amount needed due to the failing economy.
Next are the nobles, but they are a small group of people, who when compared to other countries are really only about as rich as an average middle class citizen.
Below the nobles are the guards, who distribute the monthly money and food to the people.
Culture
The people are known to be extremely tight-fisted for understandable reasons. They are a tough people, who generally keep to the themselves. The families are small and close-knit, most neighbors don't knowing much about each other save for a name or two.
This is does not mean they are unkind or unfriendly to strangers, but they are very cautious about who they let into their homes and neighborhoods.
The Vaku culture is known for being strict. Some people think that this strictness comes from the recent hard times, but it has always been a strict culture.
Public Agenda
The king has claimed that he will soon be enacting changes that will "jump start" the economy. He shouts from his podium that he will begin a revolution that will change the Vakuian people forever. He promises that signing a trade deal with Hujing Tan was just what the kingdom needed.
Assets
The Vaku Jirako have talkers. People with silver tongues, particularly their king. The Vakuians have great orators and can sway crowds. This is why the Vaku kingdom is not seen in the best light. Many kings are worried that they will be swayed by these well-spoken people.
Vaku also has a great animal training program, whether it be for horses, dogs, chickens, or your red-lipped batfish. These animals are used for a variety of things, some for helping on the farm, but more often than not are trained for war. (And let me tell you, you do not want to see what a red-lipped batfish can do.)
