Neea Kallenen is the Scholar General of the town of Forsbyr in the western reaches of Mailenstead. She is the first female member of The Scholars' Guild, and her area of study is the folklore and legends of both the Sogni and Settlers.

Personal history
Neea Kallenen was born to Atto Kallenen and Tippa Skeggresen in the town of Forsbyr in 209 AF. Her mother was the town washerwoman. Her father could not hold a job for long. This left the family poor and often in need of help from the townspeople. When Neea was eight years old, her mother left her father to marry a traveling furrier, Narfi Skeggresen, from Mailenskord. In need of money, Neea left her schooling and took on her mother's job as the town washerwoman. Not long after, she and her father left Forsbyr and they traveled from town to town throughout Mailenstead as he did odd jobs for people to etch out a living. After a few years of this, she went to live with her mother and step-father, where she attended school. She eventually was admitted into the College of Mailenskord and the Scholar's Guild.
Education
Early in her childhood, Neea was educated under the supervision of Master Timmond, the Scholar General of Forsbyr. This continued until she left the town with her father when she was nine years of age. For the next three years she had no formal schooling, but she recorded all the stories, folktales, and songs she heard as she traveled through Mailenstead with her father. At the age of twelve she went to live with her mother and step-father in Mailenskord. Master Timmond Insgard vouched for her to attend the local Scholars' Academy in Mailenskord. Her fees were waved. Her placement in the Scholars' Academy was unusual, as admission is usually reserved only for the wealthy and for boys. Her studies at the Academy were successful, despite the challenges presented to her due to her class and sex. She was admitted to the College of Mailenskord at the age of seventeen. She finished her course of study under the supervision of Master Edvard Janosen and at the age of twenty-three, she became the first female admitted to the Scholars' Guild. She was assigned the position of Scholar General in Forsbyr.
Employment
Neea's first assignment as a member of the Scholars' Guild is the Scholar General of Forsbyr. The position of Scholar General is focused on the education of the community, particularly the youth, as well as providing aid and advice to the mayor and other leaders as needed. They may also carry out research on behalf of the Scholars' Guild or for their own studies.
Current Status
Currently serving as the Scholar General of Forsbyr while also actively investigating some odd occurrences that have been happening in the area.

Neea Kallenen is the main character in the story "The Road to Fjallmark" in Wyngraf Magazine vol. 1. She also appears in "The Woodworker's Guest" in Wyngraf Magazine vol. 4. She is the main, recurring character in the work in progress anthology, Tales from the Nightgate Inn.
