Ovali / Nebakún (Oh-vAHl-ee / Nehb-AH-koon)

Each of the moons have various names depending on culture. The largest moon is most commonly referred to as "Ovali" in Solesia and "Nebakún" in Varia. For the purposes of this article, it will be referred to as Ovali unless otherwise stated.

King of the Skies

The Varian name for Ovali, Nebakún, roughly translates to "sky king" in Old Varian. Ovali earns this title as the largest moon of the five. It also has the longest orbital period. As the most easily identifiable moon, it is the moon most commonly tracked for the creation of lunar calendars. Also due to its size, it has the most dramatic effect on the oceanic tides.

Whenever Ovali completes an orbit, it is always accompanied by the moons Wyn and Riza.

Appearance

Ovali is a rich blue color and is notable by its large and distinct crater marks. Many cultures interpret these marks in different ways, with some believing them to be the visage of their god, while others see them as marks from mythological stories.

It appears quite large in the sky, especially when close to the horizon, and is capable of totally eclipsing the sun. Due to its slow orbit, each of its phases last a considerable amount of time, and it is difficult to tell the difference between them from night to night.
