Guild of Roses
The Guild of Roses is a highly secretive order of those who wish to see the downfall of the Colonial Earth Empire, and a return of true genuine democracy. Members of the guilds are varried and diverse, they are idealists and academics, smugglers and hackers, political dissidents and disenfranchised or abused citizens. The Guild operates primarily in the Core Systems, and the fact that they have been able to do so under the nose of the Office of Imperial Security and Colonial Security Bureau means they are quiet good at what they do.
Imperial Security officers have determined the Guild of Roses regularly funds, and passes information and equipment to organizations like the Pacifica Liberation Front, the Dragon Resistance and even the Red Sun Commonwealth. What the officers do not know is the Guild's ties to the Union of Socialist Systems, and the regular support they recieve in turn. They are also funded by idealist noble houses, in great secret. One of their greatest supporters is House Merexes, who have been secretly funding the organization for years.
The Guild is made up of idealists, but they do understand the neccesity of violence and underhanded tactics in order to topple the empire. They believe that they are just in using the tools of the oppressors in order to free those under the thumb of Imperial rule. Secrecy is of the utmost importance, and many members would sooner give their lives than reveal the secrets of the Roses. Recruitment is done carefully, and only on a need-to-know basis. Many will do work for the guild without even knowing it was the guild in the first place. Many a guild operation has instead been blamed on some Commonwealth or Cartel activity.
The guild believes without serious course correction, the empire is doomed to crumble, and turn into the likes of the Corporate Assembly, or worse, the Covenant of Man or Zym Cartel. They believe that the only way forward is by removing the corruption and reforming a true functioning democracy, not corrupted by wealth and the Imperial Nobility.
Their operations consist of anything from great heists, stealing pre-silence artifacts from the Palatiums of noble houses, to providing intel on an Imperial Navy fleet in Pacifica, allowing the Liberation Front to sabotage it. They regularly provide arms to more direct organizations, and distribute propoganda within Imperial territory. They steal from the Banking Guilds and then give that money for the Dragon Resistance to build more snub fighters in the Expanse. Some even believe that they directly put the anti-imperial forces directly in contact with each other, organizing meetings to get the various groups to work together to bring about the downfall of the Empire.
