Once theorized to be a temperate paradise, California has become a frigid, cold world due to a reduction in its atmospheric greenhouse effect. With a breathable atmosphere and desirable gravity, the planet has undergone heavy terraforming efforts that have made it livable. Despite the cold, California’s significance in the Duchy of St. Germain's economy and military is critical.

Rulership

The noble families of California still remain fiercely loyal to House St. Germain, though separatist factions backed by the Social Republic and corporate interests of the Martian Technocratic League threaten to destabilize the planet.

Orbit

California has one moon, Regal, and two orbital stations. Pacifica Orbital Station is operated by the Galactic Union of Space Forces, and New Avalon Dockyard is operated by the St. Germain Royal Navy.
