California is a cold habitable planet in the California System.

Environment

Once theorized to be a temperate paradise, California's atmosphere suffered from a failed terraforming initiative by initial settlers, and became a frigid world due to a reduction in its atmospheric greenhouse effect.
The planet partially recovered under the leadership of the later Farron Dynasty, gaining a breathable atmosphere that has made it livable. Despite the cold, California’s significance in St. Germain's economy and military is critical.

Rulership

Most people on the planet are deeply loyal to the Farron Dynasty, who are respected for their handling of the terraforming crisis. However, amidst the civil war, separatist factions backed by the Social Republic and corporate interests of the Martian Technocratic League threaten to destabilize the planet.

Orbit

California has one moon, Regal, and two orbital stations. Pacifica Orbital Station is operated by the Galactic Union of Space Forces, and New Avalon Dockyard is operated by the Germain Royal Navy.
