Environment
The Shards are believed to be the remnants of a shattered planet from millennia past. Its asteroids are rich in minerals, heavy metals, and water ice, making it vital for building ships, weapons, and sustaining the economy of the system. Despite being critical to the war effort, the belt is notorious for being the hiding place of privateers, mercenaries, and rebel elements who utilize the cover of asteroid fields for hit-and-run tactics.Orbit
The Argent Spire is a large, fortified mining station controlled by House St. Germain, serving as the Duchy’s primary resource processing facility in the belt. It is heavily guarded, and its status as a strategic outpost makes it a key military target. The Miner-9 Collective is a a loosely aligned collection of mining outposts formerlly contracted to the Martian Technocratic League who have since unionized. These smaller stations are focused on automated mining. Due to the volatile nature of the civil war, Miner-9 is heavily fortified with defense platforms and AI-controlled drones to fend off attacks from rebel factions.
