Great Exodus
The Great Exodus is the name of the collective wave of migration of almost all surface dwelling races into the Deeplands following the onset of the Bright.
When the surface became the Scorched Lands all societies crumbled and while some rebuilt eventually and adapted to the burning rays of the Suns many others either perished or left the surface seeking a better place to live underground.
The Sumraki-Ashaī were led during their own exodus by their Prophets who taught the word of Serkatha, the Spider Goddess and Mistress of Darkness who sought to bring her children to refuge in the Great Cavern of Aman-ya, a place underground that was more like the verdant surface world before the Bright than any other.
