Spring

During spring the cold of Winter loosens its icy-steel grip on Aman-ya and the towering masses of snow start to very slowly turn into rivers of thaw water that flow into the Three Serpent Rivers and Lake Aphon.

Flora and fauna start becoming more active as temperatures rise and at times the ground shakes from the seasonal earthquakes known as spring-quakes.

The seasonal bloom of the Greenbright Moss and its glowing spores that fall to the ground as dancing lights is also a common feature of this season.

Late snow and rain are also common in this season and there is often what the people of Styx refer to as "baited spring", short periods of spring and then a sudden resurgence of the cold season.

Spring is the time that most of agricultural sowing of crops takes place and as such a very important time for the common folk.
Celebration of this takes place on Sowing Day.

Spring is one of the Seasons as encompassed by the Wheel of Seasons as it is part of the Eldest Faith, the religion of the Forestfolk which is forbidden and taboo within the City State of Styx.
