Tol Ylidoc simply means "Elvish Languages" - a blanket term referring to all spoken Elvish, but generally referring to present rather than ancient versions. Elvish is a complex tongue, heavily laden with markers of social caste. Varidoc (High Elvish) is the most complex, spoken by nobles and Druids, and contrasts with Tullimendoc (Forest Elvish), the least elaborate or formal form of the tongue.
