Upon solving the puzzle, the iron bounded wooden door in the north opens. Additionally, the party finds a secret door that opens into a small room with a wooden box with the key symbol of Abadar as well a large mechanism of gears. There are tiny holes in the wall where there is the sound of kobolds. Tristan advises caution given that traps have already been found. Zor'ahn overhears 2-4 voices talking about the boss's new pet and plans for the town above. Kaliff examines the contraption and finds that it is a complicated device, but at least one part of it is a lever that is connected to wiring that goes up through the ceiling. The group huddles over the box and finds it contains several coins, an emerald (small glass box), and a sealed scroll (decorative Z) seal. 6.31p
Tristan opens the door which squeals. The kobold's voices fall silent, the sound of movement. Tristan charges in and demoralizes the first kobold, causing it to drop its spear. There is the sound of scaping on stone and something metallic being stretched. Kalitos moves into the room and seeks cover next to Tristan. Ehrn strides into the room and a spear sudden flies out from the west and slams into her back. She steps forward and swings wildly out at a kobold. Zor'ahn moves quickly in and levels an attack against the same creature, striking it down. Kaliff walks in quickly and fires an electric arc at the first enemy he sees, shocking it to death. One of warrior kobolds attempts to sling stones at Zor'ahn, but misses wildly. He throws down the sling in disgust and picks up a spear. Tristan swings on another working on a mechanism, but his sword slides over its armor. It gives up on the trap and raises its spear instead. Another fires more stones at Tristan, but they skitter off his shield. Kalitos moves forward but is unable to land a blow. Ehrn attempts to heal and rushes at the trapmaster. Zor'ahn strikes down the slinger. Kaliff rounds a pillar and fires another arc, giving them a mild shock. Tristan leaps over a trap and cleaves into the trapmaster. It says something to the other guard, "You must save her," and slashes at Tristan. The warrior kobold runs down a flight of stairs. Kalitos and Ehrn move up. Zor'ahn plunges down the staircase into the gloom. Crossbow bolts fly around him and distracts his attack. Kaliff steps forward and administers a healing potion to Ehrn. Tristan likewise descends the staircase. The warrior kobold turns and attempts to pierce Zor'ahn. Kalitos rounds the stairs and stumbles through the kobolds' barricade. Ehrn enters as well, but is unable to get her glaive through the debris. Zor'ahn hunts and strikes down the spearbearer and moves to flank. Kaliff enters the room and takes up position in a corner. The first crossbowist moves into the hallway and reloads. Tristan reaches around the corner rips into it with his bastard sword, causing it to drop its bolt. Tristan steps and finishes the job. Kalitos steps over the barracade and slashes out with his dueling sword and main-gauche. Ehrn skewers it and drops the creature. The small room has a barricaded passage way to the north. To the west is a large fountain with a statue of a mermaid about to blow a kiss that appears to honor Gozreh. There appears to be some sort of mechanism on each corner of the fountain and something glitters in the pool. 6.41p
While Zor'ahn and Kaliff begin stripping the corpses, Tristan examines the way into the fountain room. Tristan and Zor'ahn begin moving in and there is a sudden whoosh of water as the statue shoots a jet of water at them, blasting them. Tristan quickly looks around and sees that Zor'ahn is stepping on a stone plate. He warns the elf before raising his shield. Ehrn moves into the room and quickly heals Tristan. The statue's head turns its head to the northwest and northeast, continuing its blasts of water. Kaliff peers in and is able to discern pressure plates around the fountain. Kalitos moves forward to try and turn a mechanism, which creates some sort of sucking sound. The elf backs out of the room. Tristen turns the handle nearest him and raises his shield. Ehrn steps out and administers to Zor'ahn. The statue turns to Tristen and shoots again, but misses. Kaliff waits for further threats and Kalitos moves and turns the remaining handle. Zor'ahn looks for some portable cover and pulls in a table. Tristen moves to examine the broken handle, but it appears to have already been turned. Several coins are visible in the fountain. A short passage north leads to a stone door. The sorcerer and the ranger collaborate and liberate the coins. 6.51p
Tristan moves to examine the passage way before proceeding to the door. Zor'ahn sees evidence that this room is well trafficked. Tristan opens the door. Some sort of movement is noticed in the air and a glass smashes against the floor. Tristan sees the spill of oil on the floor as well as several kobold warriors scattered about the room. He leaps over it and charges at one and Kalitos follows his example. The kobolds begin slinging stones and maneuvering. Flanking Tristan, they move to attack, but he raises his shield just in time to intercept the blow. Zor'ahn is peppered by stones. Kaliff steps to the door and casts out an arc of electricity. Ehrn moves and takes up flank with her husband, rages, and skewers their mutual foe. A kobold moves further up and is able to sling at Ehrn. Tristan strikes down another and moves. Kalitos fires an arc as well and enters his stance. Zor'ahn stands and moves to cut down one of the offending lizards. Another plunges a spear into his stomach. Kaliff steps into room and zaps again, electrocuting one. Ehrn skewers another, completely impaling it. The remaining kobold begins screeching for its boss. It fires a stone at Ehrn and grabs a spear. Tristan bounds the incline and slashes at the lizard. He and Kalitos move up and see a regal looking kobold perched on a throne, who calls out to kill the group. Two crossbow wielding kobolds appear on a ledge. One kobold descends and fires at Tristan, missing him. Zor'ahn moves up and takes cover. The leader begins mumbling and fires out missiles of force, striking Tristan and Kalitos. Another strikes Kalitos with a bolt. Kaliff moves forward, and Ehrn moves up as well.
