Yoshino Goddess of Talos and Fertility

“You do not cast your seeds to the wind and hope they grow; you must plan, and plan well.”
— Part of a chant spoken by a Maiden of Yoshino

Mother of the Wilds

Live in harmony with nature and help to preserve its balance. Respect the circle of life and understand that all living things are a part of it. Nature can be as beautiful as it can be dangerous. Those at one with nature have little to fear from the wild. Those ignorant of the balance in the wilderness might be brought down by what lives within. But that is the natural order of things and it must be respected.   Associated not only with the earth above, upon which all things grow and live, but also with the places beneath the earth, Yoshino stands for the fertility of the land, as well as the people that inhabit it. As a ruler of fertility and childbirth, she is praised for and is a protector of pregnant women. Maidens (the names of her followers) often sing and chant around another follower who is giving birth to ease the child into the world. At the time of one’s birth, a female child is given an animal totem as a guide through life, while a male child is given a small weapon as a trinket.
Yoshino is often linked with the animals of the deep places and caves of the earth, including moles, voles, and cave bears. Of all the animals of the earth, though, she is most closely associated with rabbits and hares, which live in warm homes in the earth. They are gentle and fertile creatures, just as Yoshino is gentle and stands for the fertility of all the creatures and plants of the earth, and they desire nothing but peace, yet they will not hesitate to protect their young, even against impossible odds. Among mystical creatures, she is often associated with treants, which some say are her children, though other say she is most closely tied to the divine and gentle celestial animal spirits called pookas that sometimes aid humans in need. They usually appear as monkeys or rabbits, and stand at the good counterparts to rakshasas.

Holy Books & Codes

Testament of the Land - A collection of diaries written by Yoshino's top Maidens who recorded everything they witnessed while Amaranth was being taught. Myths say these diaries hold information such as information on all species to roam the land, teachings on how to grow all manor of plant life and much more.

Tenets of Faith

Tend to the land and the land will tend to you. Fertile fields, barren deserts, harsh tundra, majestic mountains, and all other terrains are part of the natural order. Life thrives in each, but in different ways. No matter what part of this grand world you find yourself, build a strong foundation and let your roots run deep. When the land thrives, so do the creatures it bears.

Holidays

The blessing of Green: Martherum 8th: Most citizens flock to the closest church to pray to Marluxia, Amaranth, and Yoshino in hopes of a good planting season / bloom. Many church services are free or half off in an act of benevolence in hopes of the gods to the same. Around this time many fortune tellers gather in cities and towns as some people tend to ask about the upcoming crops.   The first Bloom of Yoshino: Normally about a week or more before the first feast as wildflowers start to bloom over the country painting the plains in swaths of colors a large celebration is held during the day consisting of dancing and children picking flowers. On this day the clan's sets up a competition in which everyone can join in for one silver. The competitors are then let lose in the surrounding towns and forest, in which several hundreds of egg-replicas have been placed. The goal is to stomp as many as you can until someone finds the ‘dragon’ and stomps on its egg. This results in a mighty illusion of a roaring black dragon that instantly dies, and a faerie fire spell being cast on the lucky winner.   Day of Colors: Normally held a week after the flowers begin to bloom through the forest, this day celebrates the coming of spring with love, community, and colors. The day before the festival everyone goes out collecting anything that they can make pigment from as the sun sets, everyone gathers around a fire making piles of pigments ranging in all colors imaginable. The next morning everyone gathers in the center of the village and begins painting each other and everything around them in an array of colors making for one of the most beautiful sights in the land. Everyone continues the festivities eating, drinking, and painting well into the night covering everything and everyone. Many elders spend the day telling children stories of how these flowers bloom around the same time every year as they are remembering when the Goddess Yoshio was born and how she created the first flowers

History

Yoshino and Amaranth are the perfect student/teacher pair with the unending love they both have for Talos and its natural inhabitance. Amaranth has been enamored with Yoshino since she saw Yoshino creating a new type of plant to fill the lands with, even though she was young Amaranth immediately asked if she could help. Yoshino seeing the wonder in the young goddess eyes gave her a Lodern a bag of seeds to spread throughout the lands together. ( This is the reason the plant is still called Amaranth to this day. ) This moment never left Amaranths mind and as soon as she could she set out to find Yoshio and pledge herself to the goddess. Even after all this time Yoshio immediately recognized the goddess and allowed Amaranth to stay and learn her ways.

History

Yoshio and Kriegen didn't see eye to eye when first meeting while they were defenders of Talos they did not agree with each other's ways. Yoshino found Kriegen to be too violent and Kreigen felt that Yoshino was too forgiving giving those that have harmed the land a second chance. Eye though they didn't share each other's views they knew each was an important protector of Talos and found side by side many times due to this. After a time the two would even grow to be friends slowly Yoshino's calmer nature rubbed off on Kriegen keeping him level-headed in the heat of battle, and Kriegen's courageous nature rubbed off on Yoshino giving her more confidence and strength. The two eventually fell for each other and together would bring the god Vastile into the Universe.

History

Yoshino is the Goddess of Talos and fertility so no one could doubt the amazing mother that she would become. She had every moment that wasn't dedicated to Talos to her son, at first they were inseparable but slowly it became apparent that the young boy was much more aligned with his father. Although Vastile started spending more time with his father Yoshino never stopped teaching and raising the boy, in fact Yoshino even trusted her son with seeing over the mortal rulers on Talos to tell if they were worthy for the role.
