Palerian

Summary

Palerian is a god of art in all it's forms, and is the son of Nios, the High god of Inspiration within the Progenitor Pantheon. He is a patron to artists everywhere, but artists of multiple disciplines are more likely to consider him as such since each of his children typically earn the favor of more single minded artists. Palerian is the father of the gods Parul-the god of poetry and storytelling, Vosmiam-the god of singing and music and Mindel-the god of visual arts. As the spouse of another low god his children enjoy the same low-god status as himself, and as such his family makes up a significant portion of the Pantheon.

Visage

Unlike many gods in the Progenitor Pantheon Palerian is rarely seen clad in armor, instead he often takes a form clad in a long, silver robe with an intense sheen. Hanging over his shoulder is a cape of a strange metallic blue. He wears a small crown with many small green gems across its band, and atop it rests a single large piece of cut blue Elmorine. In his right hand he often holds a silver chalice of wine, and the liquid within is a deep violet. Like his father his skin is pale, however his hair is much darker.   His eyes are a deep silver in color. This silver only covers the iris when he walks among mortals, however in his true divine form the entirety of the eye takes this silver coloration, and the intensity is increased to such an extreme that the eyes appear to faintly grow. His Horns are an identical silver, and they rise upward in a manner similar to that of the Herost Seltien.

Personality

Palerian is both analytical and emotional, specifically he makes use of emotional language but does so softly and takes the time to make sure his words convey the correct emotions. This perspective applies to more than just himself. He will listen eagerly even to those using the gruffest words, only interrupting to clarify their perspective. As such many of the gods will come to him for advice, realizing that despite his domain governing art his ability to analyze both his and others emotions has allowed him to not only develop a deep body of knowledge comparable to his sibling and even Gessar, but to council those who fear their emtions getting the better of them. Due to this unofficial role many call him the secret god of wisdom.

Relationships and interactions

Of all of Nios's children he has the best standing with his father, and will send messengers on his fathers behalf, and is often willing to seek out mortals and gods alike when his father wishes to converse. Although many gods fail to see art as having an important purpose in the grand scheme of things, particularly considering how little it does against the Titans they respect him enough to not hassle him over their perceptions as he has made it clear that he truly believes art is important to the development of the Mortal Races, particularly with the absence of the High Gods.

History

He earnt the high degree of respect granted to him by his comrades of both the high and low pantheon when he (alongside Raimia) convinced Mekromat to send the The Wilderun Pantheon to assist the The Progenitor Pantheon cast the Titans from Talirim in the early second age.
